SURVIVAL / FIRST RUN

First escape & PC controls

Take valuables out alive by reading the pickup tooltip, tracking your load and finding the exit before committing to a heavy haul. Picking an item up and saving its payout are separate events, so change plans when the entity approaches.

1. Read the counters separately

The desktop HUD shown in earlier community gameplay separates BALANCE on the left, THIS RUN at the top-right, and carrying weight at the bottom. The pickup tooltip gives another set of numbers: the item's name, rarity, dollar value and kilograms. A $173 run counter beside a $47 Desk Fan does not make that fan worth $173.

The top-center display can show EXIT SEALED with its own countdown. Locate the real exit and watch its status instead of assuming every door lets you leave. Round length and unlock timing can vary with modes or updates; one captured countdown is not a universal schedule.

2. Inspect, then collect

In the PC captures, aiming at a pickup displays its value and weight with Hold E. While collecting, the prompt changes to Collecting and a percentage bar. Let the action finish, then check your run and weight indicators before choosing another object. Exact pickup duration has not been measured here.

The bottom HUD displays F — hold to throw. Treat this as a carrying control; damage or stun against the entity has not been established. For mobile, console or VR, follow the prompts on your device. These PC examples are not a complete controller or keyboard reference.

3. Learn a short route while carrying light

Start with nearby loot on a route you recognize, then check how the load affects your movement before going deeper. The developer states that rarer loot pays more and slows you down. A higher price helps only if you can still complete the trip out.

Keep the return path in mind at every doorway. Another room may add stairs, distance or a connector the entity can block. Learning a short loop first gives you a route to fall back on when the building becomes dangerous.

4. Prepare your hiding route

The official description warns that the entity hears footsteps and voice, and lists closets, vents and barricaded doors as hiding options. Move carefully near danger and avoid talking while trying to conceal your position. A hiding spot should not be treated as invulnerability.

A community guide for version 1.3 reports two useful prerequisites:

  • Vents: find a screwdriver and use it to open a closed vent cover before relying on that route.
  • Barricades: obtain a barricade kit in the lobby shop; the reported price was 200 coins.

Check the current prompt, price and inventory before the run. These are historical reports, and they do not establish that an entity can never enter a vent or break a barricade.

A captured closet view displays E — Leave closet. Use the prompt shown in your game to leave; no guaranteed safe hiding duration has been established. A MIC meter also appears on the captured HUD, but its sensitivity and behavior across accounts and devices remain unmeasured.

5. Decide when to leave

When the exit becomes available, compare your existing haul with the extra distance and exposure of another grab. Prefer a known route when your load has slowed you down. Treat THIS RUN as a haul still in play, rather than money already available from your saved balance.

Community tutorial reporting says unextracted loot is lost if you die inside. The reviewed first tutorial slide confirms the objective of collecting valuables and getting them out alive; the later tutorial sequence and death outcome were not independently tested for this guide.

Before your next run

  • Know one route back to the exit.
  • Read the pickup's own price and kilograms.
  • Keep enough movement and time for the return journey.
  • Watch the current exit status.
  • Quiet your microphone when voice is enabled and you are hiding.
  • Follow your device's on-screen controls.

The control examples come from earlier community gameplay images. Use the current HUD as your final reference after an update.
